Time For Full-Scale War To Destroy Islamic State

Challenger2-Speeding

France should invoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty – An attack on one, is an attack on all. Every NATO member must contribute to a combined NATO force in Turkey, to launch a full-scale attack on Islamic State in Syria. No more limited airstrikes – there needs to be a ground force marching on Raqqa.

“The near-simultaneous attacks in Paris that killed nearly 130 people were an “act of war” organised by the Islamic State (IS) militant group, says France’s President Francois Hollande.

He said the attacks, carried out by eight gunmen and suicide bombers, were “organised and planned from outside”.

The targets included bars, restaurants, a concert and a high-profile football match. IS claimed the attacks.

Mr Hollande has declared three days of national mourning.

He has raised the security threat level to its highest point and imposed a nationwide state of emergency.

This is the deadliest peacetime attack in France and the worst in Europe since the 2004 Madrid bombings. At least 180 people were wounded, 80 of whom are in a critical condition.”

Hezbollah Indicted

As expected, the first indictment by the UN Special Tribunal accuses Hezbollah of Rafic Hariri’s assassination. It will be interesting to see if Syria is implicated in further indictments. Everyone knows they must have been involved, and that they utilised Hezbollah.

“Lebanon’s state prosecutor, Saeed Mirza, confirmed the tribunal handed over the first indictment in its long investigation into the crime, which at the time seemed likely to lead to a major realignment in regional politics.

Its contents were not formally released but judicial sources told The Daily Telegraph that Hizbollah’s senior military commander, Mustapha Badreddine, was accused of masterminding Mr Hariri’s killing.

Hizbollah’s commander in south Lebanon, Salim al-Ayyash, is accused of carrying out the attack, along with two other men, named as Hassan Issa and Assad Sabra.”

“The German judge heading an investigation on the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri says the Syrian regime ordered his assassination.

In an interview with a German radio station, Detlev Mehlis said Syrian President Bashar Assad “ordered Hariri killed” because he feared the premier was cooperating with France and the US in order to overturn the Syrian regime and disarm Hezbollah. (Roee Nahmias).”

WikiLeaks: Fatah Asked Israel To Attack Hamas

This should not come as a surprise to regional analysts, or to the Arab states. Nevertheless, it will make good propaganda for Hamas, undermining the Palestinian Authority by outraging the Arab masses. It does not matter how bad Hamas gets, the Palestinians will always regard collaboration with Jews as worse. And this is a culture where even the slightest suspicion that you are helping the Israelis can get you executed. It is also possible that Hamas will use this release as fuel for an even wider, more violent, war with the PA.

“Members of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas’ Fatah party asked Israel to attack rival Palestinian movement Hamas in 2007, diplomatic cables leaked by whistleblower WikiLeaks show.

The latest batch of cables quote the head of Israel’s Shin Bet security agency as telling US officials that “demoralised” Fatah officials in the Gaza Strip had asked for help against the growing strength of Hamas.

“They are approaching a zero-sum situation, and yet they ask us to attack Hamas,” Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin told US officials. “They are desperate.”

He went on to praise his organisation’s “very good working relationship” with Abbas’ security service, which he said shared with the Shin Bet “almost all the intelligence that it collects”.

“They understand that Israel’s security is central to their survival in the struggle with Hamas in the West Bank,” he said during the June 2007 meeting.

Revelations of such close collusion with Israel against fellow Palestinians is likely to embarrass Abbas and Fatah.

Hamas and Fatah have had tense relations for years, and resentment boiled over shortly after the Islamist group won elections in 2006. A year later, shortly after Diskin’s comments in 2007, Hamas routed Fatah in bloody fighting in the Gaza Strip and seized control of the coastal enclave.

The leaked cables were part of a flood of US diplomatic files published online by WikiLeaks, angering and embarrassing governments around the world.”

Al-Qaeda In Afghanistan

Both the Afghan government and the Obama administration believe that they can convince the Taliban to disown al Qaeda despite their intrinsic links. Al Qaeda leaders have been killed in U.S. drone strikes in Afghanistan’s north, and the paramilitary formations that were devastated in 2001 and 2002, such as Brigade 055, have been rebuilt. Still, there are those in the media who think that al Qaeda is not in Afghanistan or at least not involved in the insurgency.

“Ilyas Kashmiri, the military commander who leads Brigade 313, which is al Qaeda’s military organization in Pakistan and is made up of Taliban and allied jihadist groups. Members of Laskhar-e-Jhangvi, Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Jundallah (the Karachi-based, al Qaeda-linked group), and several other Pakistani terror groups are known to have merged with al Qaeda in Pakistan, and the group operates under the name of Brigade 313. This group is interlinked with Pakistan’s Taliban and also recruits senior members of Pakistan’s military and intelligence services, a senior US intelligence official told The Long War Journal.”

Tamil Tiger Sanctuary

The Tamil Tigers are a proscribed terrorist organisation in the US, Canada, Britain and 27 EU member countries — with good reason (see video links below). The LTTE may not be designated terrorists in Australia, but funneling support, especially hard currency, to active Tamil groups elsewhere is an act of terrorism under our laws.

“AS many as half of Sri Lankans seeking asylum in Australia are suspected of being former fighters, operatives or supporters of the Tamil Tigers.

The Tigers have been designated a terrorist organisation in many countries but not in Australia.

Sri Lankan officials estimate that between 25 and 50 per cent of Tamils fleeing to Australia have connections to the defeated Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

“Defence analyst Sergei DeSilva-Ranasinghe said that during a recent visit to Sri Lanka, two government ministers and several other officials, including Catholic Church staff with deep ties in the Tamil community, told him 25 per cent was at the lower end of their estimates.

“The people I spoke to constantly said 50 per cent,” he told The Australian.

Mr DeSilva-Ranasing he says former Tamil Tiger members are attracted to Australia because the LTTE remains legal here, unlike in the US, Canada, Britain and 27 EU member countries, where it is proscribed as a terrorist organisation.”

“Sri Lankan Tamils were largely behind credit card skimming crimes that had cost about 6000 West Australians more than $6.5 million from EFTPOS machines, Assistant Commissioner Nick Anticich said yesterday.

And there are concerns that funds raised in such operations could be diverted to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, commonly known as the Tamil Tigers and listed by a number of countries as a terrorist organisation.”

Hamas History Lesson

Hamas won the Palestinian legislative election in 2006, which gave them control of the assembly and the right to appoint a prime minister, Mahmoud al-Zahar. But, the presidency of the Palestinian Authority is a separately elected position and is still held by Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah political party.

There have always been incidents of violence between Hamas and Fatah, but Hamas gradually became so powerful in the Gaza Strip that they were eventually able to take over by force. This was because of the supply of money, military training and equipment from countries like Iran and Syria.

In the final confrontation in Gaza, Hamas attacked the Fatah offices, marched away the captured leadership, and murdered them. They then put on their opponents’ uniforms so as to appear legitimate to the world. Did the world scream blue murder when these Palestinians slaughtered their fellow Palestinians in their thousands? No, I don’t remember any protests.

Most tellingly, there wasn’t anything approaching the level of international condemnation that followed Israel’s flotilla interception and boarding. Nine “peace-activists” were killed in that incident, compared to thousands of Palestinians killed by Hamas. Where was the worldwide outrage over Hamas’ atrocities? There certainly wasn’t a demand for a U.N. investigation.

It is often argued that countries like Israel, as democracies, need to be held to higher standards—and that is as it should be—but I feel that Israel is often held to an unreasonable standard. And people wonder why Israel is often aloof as a nation. It’s because they’re used to being the world’s whipping boy.

“In the election that followed, Hamas, committed to the destruction of Israel and the killing of all Jews, won comfortably. They consolidated their position with open warfare with Fatah and about 2000 Palestinians were killed. If they’d do that to fellow Palestinians, imagine the fate of Israelis.”

Eco Terrorist Paranoia

Nano particle

What is eco-anarchist group Il Silvestre’s problem with nanotechnology? I guess it sounds pretty scary to them. What do they fear, a nano-bot take over? But this technology is very different to that.

We’ve already had the microscopic technological revolution, which allowed advanced computer electronics and other things. Nanotechnology simply allows us to view and manufacture technology at an even smaller scale. It’s the next logical step.

It covers a whole range of things, such as medications and chemicals. There are all kinds of applications. I really don’t know what there is to be paranoid about. It’s essentially what we’ve already been doing, except at a smaller scale.

There was a recent case concerning nano particles in sunscreen lotion. The concern was whether it had particles that were too small, such as zinc, which helps in reflectivity and protecting skin.

It was feared that the nano particles would not simply be absorbed into the skin but get into other internal organs. This is mainly theoretical, however, and is the only real thing to worry about at the moment.

“The apparent attack is believed to be part of a new co-ordinated wave of eco-terror on the continent. The IBM site is due to be opened next year and will be the most advanced centre for nano- and biological scientific research in Europe.

According to reports, the eco anarchists Il Silvestre are opposed to all forms of nanotechnology. The group was formed in Tuscany and is considered by some to be one of the rising “eco-terror” groups in Europe, with a rigid cell structure, access to explosives, and a membership that supposedly has no qualms about killing to achieve its goals.”

‘Eco anarchists: A new breed of terrorist?’
http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/eco-anarchists-a-new-breed-of-terrorist-1975559.html

“State of Fear is a 2004 techno-thriller novel by Michael Crichton concerning eco-terrorists who attempt mass murder to support their views.”

‘State of Fear’

Crichton’s novel Prey has more to do with this topic than State of Fear. Though personally, I think SoF is the better book.

“Prey is a novel by Michael Crichton based on a nano-robotic threat to human-kind, first published in hardcover in November 2002 and as a paperback in November 2003 by HarperCollins. Like Jurassic Park, the novel serves as a cautionary tale about developments in science and technology; in this case, nanotechnology.”

Obama Hasn’t Learned The Lesson Of Daniel Pearl’s Murder

Islamic Terrorists murdered Daniel Pearl! Our ENEMY killed him.

Some naughty foreign government didn’t restrict his journalistic freedom. The savages we are at WAR with killed him.

Al-Qaeda and affiliated terrorists are still trying to kill Americans. We can honour Pearl by recognising the reality of the threat, by going after these bastards and defeating them.

This law itself is fine as it is, the so-called ‘Daniel Pearl Freedom Act’, but, if Obama wanted to promote it, he should have focused on journalists oppressed or tortured in Iran, for example.

Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by TERRORISTS, because he was both an American and Jewish. His murder had nothing to do with regimes around the world restricting freedoms and oppressing journalists.

Do you think that Al-Qaeda really cared what Pearl was writing? They kidnapped and murdered him because he was American and Jewish — being a journalist was irrelevant.

“WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama on Monday signed a bill into law which will single out foreign governments that shackle press freedoms, passed in honor of murdered US journalist Daniel Pearl.

Obama was joined by Pearl’s widow Mariane and their son Adam, 7, in the Oval Office as he signed the law, which requires the State Department to compile a public list of governments which violate journalistic freedoms.

The president said the legislation would help ensure that the legacy of Pearl, killed by kidnappers in Pakistan in 2002, would live on.

“The loss of Daniel Pearl was one of those moments that captured the world’s imagination because it reminded us how valuable a free press is,” Obama said.

Obama said the law “sends a strong message from the US government and the State Department that we’re paying attention on how foreign governments are operating when it comes to the press.”

“This legislation, in a very modest way, puts us clearly on the side of journalistic freedom.”

Pearl, 38, was the South Asia bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal when he was abducted in Karachi on January 23, 2002 while researching a story about Islamist militants.

A graphic video showing his decapitation was delivered to the US consulate in the city nearly a month later.

Mariane Pearl was pregnant with their son when her husband was murdered.

In 2007, she filed a lawsuit Wednesday against 23 individuals and organizations over the abduction and murder of Pearl, naming Al-Qaeda, the group’s alleged mastermind kingpin Khalid Sheikh Mohammed — who claimed responsibility for beheading Pearl and is now in US custody — and Pakistan’s Habib Bank among the defendants.”

The Threat Of Nuclear/Biological Terrorism

Peter Brookes, © 2009

I’m not an alarmist.  But here are some possibilities. Some analysts are saying that a biological or nuclear attack on a city “somewhere” in the West will almost certainly take place before 2014.

I personally think that Iran building a nuclear bomb is the most serious threat, and them using it sometime after 2015, if nothing is done to stop them.  By that time Iran will have build up enough nuclear weapons, and figured out how to make suitcase bombs, which they could then distribute to terrorists groups.  Israel of course would be their prime target.

If it’s elsewhere in the West, it’s more likely than not to be Europe, thanks to the delusions of many there.  But the odds have substantially increased for another attack on the US too.

Either way, the West is going to have to suffer something much much worse than 9/11 before the people wake up and smell the coffee.  I’ve said it before:  Hundreds of thousands may die before we enter a decisive battle with Islamic terrorism.

‘Telling blows in the war on terror’

“There is also no doubt that al-Qa’ida wants to acquire weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons. Given the breadth of its support internationally, its notoriously long view of strategy, its operational persistence, and the propensity of democracies to lose focus on threats that are quiet for a while, the odds still have to favour al-Qa’ida eventually succeeding in this aim. And that will change absolutely everything.”
